Roof soft wash, in plain words

What we do to a streaked roof.

West Georgia Gutter Guys Pressure Washing & More cleans roofs with a low pressure soft wash. The company is licensed and insured, locally owned and operated, and based in Villa Rica, Georgia. A soft wash applies a cleaning mix at low pressure, lets it work, then rinses gently. It removes algae streaks, mold and mildew from shingle and metal roofs without stripping shingle granules the way a high pressure blast can. Roof cleaning is available across Villa Rica, Carrollton, Temple, Bowdon, Douglasville, Carroll County, the West Georgia lakes including Fairfield Plantation and Mirror Lake, and nearby counties in Georgia and Alabama. Owner Ambrose has 17+ years in the trade, the company itself has operated since 2019, and Google rates it 4.7 stars. Estimates are free, and a real person answers, usually Ambrose. Hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, Saturday 8am to 1pm, closed Sunday. Call or text 770-912-6867.

Why roofs streak

Those black streaks are algae.

Roof algae feeds on the limestone filler in asphalt shingles and spreads across shaded, humid slopes. West Georgia summers are its favorite weather.

  • Algae and mildew hold moisture against the roof instead of letting it dry.
  • Streaks make a roof look decades older than it is, from the street and from the curb appraisal.
  • Pressure washing a shingle roof strips granules. That is why this is a soft wash service.

How soft washing works

Low pressure beats the blast.

Soft washA wide, gentle fan lays the mix across the shingles. The chemistry lifts the algae, the rinse carries it off.
Pressure blastA narrow, high pressure jet knocks the protective granules loose and can lift shingle tabs. Not on our roofs.
  1. 1. Free estimate

We look at the roof, name the plan, and quote it. No charge, no pressure of any kind.

  2. 2. Apply the wash

The soft wash mix goes on at low pressure and sits while it loosens algae, mold and mildew.

  3. 3. Gentle rinse

A wide, low pressure rinse carries the growth off. Granules stay on the shingles.

Shingle or metal

One wash, both roofs.

Shingle roofs

Asphalt shingle is where streaks show first. The soft wash lifts them without lifting granules.

Metal roofs

Metal panels take the same low pressure mix, rinsed clean along the seams and fasteners.
